After 30+ hours of travel, we made it! It feels like such a relief to finally say those words. This past week was stressful, exciting, and agitating. Honestly, I'm just so glad it's over. I don't advise trying to fly internationally during a pandemic to anyone. Max and I both have our fair share of experience, but this was a whole new game.
This past week we"ve spent hours contacting Delta, changing flights, changing them again, checking travel documents, packing, crying, getting Covid testing, and saying goodbye to family and friends. Our original plans were to fly to Kiev on January 18th, take our honeymoon, and then join up with Wide Awake at the beginning of February. None of that is what transpired. Instead, Max and I boarded a plane on the morning of January 15th, canceled our AirBnB, and instantly headed to Zhytomyr.
Being here has filled us with anticipation for what the next year will hold. We are so excited to get settled into our new place and routine. We are so humbled to join in the work that Wide Awake has been doing for seven years. We can see God's Kingdom breaking in all around us, and it fills us with anticipation of what is to come.
Thank you for all your prayers and support as we were traveling. We are truly blessed to know that we had so many people backing us as we set out.
I am so glad you all made it! Miss you. Love you.
