Wow, It's crazy how quickly a month goes by out here in our village. Although our life is simpler here, in Ukraine, we always seem to be busy and tired at the end of the day.

After some reflection, we've come to realize that our lives are a different kind of busy here. But instead of all of those things being within separate spheres, we have them all combined. Our work is with our boys in our home, our friends are the other people who play a role in the boy's lives, weekly we take the boys to church with us. Having our lives so intrinsically intertwined brings a sense of calm within the business. It makes our lives feel so much simpler.

Since we've been here the homestead has been a revolving door for visitors. We recently had our friends Lois, Karen, and Betsy here. These ladies work with Hands of Hope an organization that partners with Wide Awake to help us meet the needs of our boys. They were such a blessing to have here with us. This time when they came they blessed all of us with a pool. We spend most of our lives outside right now so this was a huge blessing, and anyone who knows anything about Anton and Sasha knows that they love water. So it's safe to say they will be spending their summer in the water.

Max and I have been seriously working on our Ukrainian. Up until June, we had been just learning through daily life and some Duolingo, but for me on the fly learning just wasn't really cutting it. So we started taking lessons twice a week and of course, we are now fluent. (or at least starting to get there) Our teacher is amazing at working with us so that we learn the phrases we actually need in our lives. Pull up your pants and flush the toilet aren't phrases that a preset program would usually teach you.

We are so happy to be here with our boys and our thankful for all of you who read our posts and support us through prayer on a monthly basis!

Here's a link where you can read more about what's going on here through the eyes of Kim.

You can also take a moment to read up on Hands of Hope and the work they do both State-side, in Ukraine, and around the globe.
