We're in Colorado!

Last month when Max and I announced our move to Ukraine, almost all the details were unknowns. When would we leave? How much will it cost? What should we sell, and what should we keep for when we return? Will we be able to spend adequate time with family and friends before leaving? We had little to no timeline, plane tickets had not been booked, and overall nothing had significantly changed in our lives. In the last month, all of that has changed. We sold a car, booked plane tickets, quit our jobs, packed up our lives, and moved across the country to spend time with Max's family. In short, a lot has changed, and a lot will change.

On January 18th, we will board a one-way plane to Ukraine. In 45 days everything will change! This is both so exciting and nerve-wracking to write. We are in a perpetual state of anticipation for what is to come, and uneasiness over all of the uncertainties. It is here in this tension that we wrestle with what sacrifice, really looks like. Here is where our brokenness and shortcomings are magnified.

For me, it has become clear that the remainder of my time in the states shall be one of surrender and trust. Trying to connect with others, fundraise, and share about what we are doing in the middle of a pandemic has made this blatantly clear. A season of confronting my inadequacies and realizing my complete need for dependence on God. The uncertainties scare me, leaving home felt agonizing, and trying to wrap our heads around everything that is left on our to-do list is a headache. But we know that God is here in the anxiety of our transition.

Meet Sasha

Soon after Max and I arrive in Zhytomyr we will be given the privilege of living along side of Sasha. We are so excited to begin our relationship with him and help him transition into his new life!

Please pray for peace and protection over Sasha in his last few months living in the institutions. That his season of transition will be easy, and that God will prepare Max and I to be a loving support to him.

We are continually needing your prayer and support. If you feel led to partner with us financially you can make a tax deductible donation below!
